“It is more common than you can imagine. You are not alone. And while you will have this the rest of your life, you can dart between the raindrops to get where you want to go and it will not hold you back.”

A Bit About Me

My Road to Here:

My professional journey has been diverse, spanning leadership roles in sales, education governance, and community engagement. However, my true passion stems from my personal experience as a parent of three boys, two of whom are dyslexic. This journey led me to complete my Orton-Gillingham (OG) training, allowing me to support students with dyslexia in achieving their academic goals and building confidence in their abilities. In addition to tutoring, I host parent support groups and offer parent coaching services to help families navigate the challenging road of advocating for their children’s needs.

As a parent of dyslexic children who have graduated and are now in university, I intimately understand the challenges and triumphs associated with this learning difference. The journey is long and challenging, and a supportive team makes a big difference. My shared experience deeply motivates me to dedicate time and effort to supporting families like yours.

During my tenure, I've led successful sales teams and spearheaded executive recruitment efforts, including facilitating partnerships between a Reading Technology firm and school districts across Canada. Additionally, my seven-year service on the Regional Education Committee for a high school provided unique insights into education governance and how difficult it can be to access student accommodations.

After spending years coaching executives, I am focusing all my energy on helping students with dyslexia and their families. Today, as a Parent Coach, OG Tutor and Executive Function Coach, I am committed to empowering children with dyslexia, enhancing their executive function, and nurturing their

confidence to unlock their full potential.

My Philosophy: Empowering Success

  • Advocating for your dyslexic child is paramount to their success. By undergoing screenings and assessments, you can identify both their challenges and strengths.

  • Collaborate closely with their teachers to implement necessary learning structures and accommodations for your child the to achieve their goals.

  • Building a strong team of educators, professionals, and coaches is essential in empowering your child to take charge of their education and future.

  • The path to success for dyslexic learners varies, but it always involves hard work and a supportive team of advocates.

  • It's crucial for your children to understand the extra effort they'll need to put in—they will have to work four times as hard as other students for the same results.

Through Dyslexia Decoded, my goal is to provide support to families navigating similar challenges with their dyslexic children.

Educating a dyslexic student is a journey filled with unique obstacles, but with the right support system and approach, we can pave the way for acceptance, support, and a realization of the full potential of our young learners.

Despite the numerous challenges and roadblocks, there are also significant 'wins' and accomplishments waiting to be achieved. Contact me to help you tip the balance towards success and building confidence not only in school but also in life.
